Rimmel Eyeshadow Quad in Smokey Brun Review

Rimmel Eyeshadow Quad
Hey guys!

Today I'm going to review Rimmel's Eyeshadow Quad in Smokey Brun. It caught my eye not only because of the stellar price (I got mine at Target for $4.63*) but also because it looked like a great neutral palette.

I'm fine with the packaging. It's a simple black, plastic container. And of course, it comes with a sponge tip applicator. It's not the most sturdy of packaging but really what could I expect with an eyeshadow product under five dollars? Overall, I like how it's compact and would be something I could easily slip in my purse.

I like how good it would be for travel not only because of the packaging, but because it contains very wearable colors. A thing to keep in mind though is that all of them are shimmery. The dark brown even contains very small gold glitter, although it's very unnoticeable.

Formula wise, it's decent... Especially for what you're paying for! The colors are velvety and I would say their soft but not very much so. The important thing is, they did apply easy and their not difficult to work with.

The darkest brown is very rich and one of the most pigmented colors in the palette. This is a great color and very versatile.

The gold-bronze color seems to lean darker when I actually swatched it. I think it's a beautiful color though, sort of a spicy bronze. It doesn't lean too orange which I'm happy with and it's shimmer is fairly subtle.

I was excited to see a taupe in the palette but this ended up being my least favorite color. It's definitely the most shimmery of all of them and the least pigmented as well. Mind you, none of the colors are very pigmented but it's passable in my opinion.

I like the white included which again, is a basic color. This is one of the most pigmented colors in the palette and it applied like a dream!

As you can see, I did a neutral smokey eye using the taupe as an all-over base color then the bronze shade over my lid concentrating most of the color in the outer third. I lined my eyes with the dark brown and used the white in my inner corner and brow bone. (And by the way, I didn't use any primer).

Overall, I like this product. It's not bad, definitely worth the money. The colors are gorgeous albeit an okay formula. Would I buy again? YES. :)
