Hey everyone!
It's a little hard to believe, but Valentine's Day is right around the corner. And if you're having a little trouble deciding what to make for your special someone, I suggest a simple, rich Mousse au Chocolat.
In a snap, you can make this dessert look gorgeous. Just putting it in a martini glass like above adds a certain feel of elegance to an easy recipe. No baking involved, means no burnt or undercooked disasters. It's really extraordinarily difficult to make this not come out tasting delicious.
So here's my recipe for Mousse au Chocolat!
Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
6 oz dark chocolate
2 1/2 tb coffee
6 oz butter, unsalted
4 egg whites
Salt
1) Beat the egg yolks and sugar until it looks thick and yellow.
2) Melt chocolate and coffee in a mixing bowl. Put the mixing bowl over hot water so mixing is easier. Add butter gradually and beat until smooth.
3) Beat the egg whites and a pinch of salt until stiff. Sprinkle one tablespoon of sugar above and beat again for a couple minutes.
4) Beat the chocolate mixture with the egg yolks and sugar mixture. (Note: Make sure your chocolate mixture has cooled down enough so the egg yolks don't cook!)
5) Stir about one third of the egg whites into the chocolate mixture. Stir well, then fold in remaining whites.
6) Refrigerate for at least two hours.
And voila! A quick, delicious recipe for you to share with someone special in your life.
Bon appétit!
